On the Rise, as Waipapa Auto Court introduce their bold New Image for 2004:

Those who have traveled through Waipapa in recent months have watched with interest as the old boat yard underwent a major transformation as old buildings were torn down and replaced with the modern sales complex of Waipapa Auto Court.

Mal Liddington, a local resident of Waipapa since 1981, developed this nearly completed facility.  He has established his reputation in the Motor Vehicle Industry over the past 20 years, previously owning both Kawakawa and Kaeo Service Stations before establishing Waipapa Auto Court in 1993 trading out of Waipapa Business Barn with another independent company, Waipapa Agri Court.

With the continuing growth of both businesses the need for added expertise and larger premises soon became evident.  Brett Morris joined Mal at Waipapa Auto Court contributing his experience as a mechanic and motor vehicle salesman, which has proven invaluable to this growing company.

In 1996 Mal and Brett moved to the premises next door where the business continued to thrive.  In 2003, Merv Foley joined the enterprising team adding his expertise as Quality Control and Service Manager for all vehicles entering the yard.

The growing trend for Japanese Imports led to the increased growth of the Direct Import aspect of the company.  Mal travels regularly to Japan to personally select vehicles for the extended northern market.  For a second time the growth of the company meant the need for further expansion.

This has proven to be a very exciting move as they now welcome clients from all over Northland to their new and very modern building and sales yard.

Waipapa Auto Court is now one of the largest Used Motor Vehicle Dealerships in the mid North offering exceptional Customer Service on all of their vehicles.
